I bought a pair of XXL yaktrax to fit over my size 13, 8” insulated boots and they fit perfectly, moreover, they worked to perfection. they allowed me to go places I would never consider and had zero concern - as sure footed as a yak (I suppose). we live on a bay off a huge lake that had frozen over…even out there my traction was excellent and I had a good walk with the dogs… I also like how easy they are to put on and take off. I used to wear an old pair of metal spiked, golf shoes when it got cold…but those aren’t insulated and it’s real easy to end up with wet feet. Nor do I want to spend several hundred dollars on a special boot. this way I can wear whatever I want to and be assured of traction.
