These are long, and strong, and do the work. Yes, I might have gotten 10x as many for 2x or 3x the price, but if they break when you use them, I get more frustrated, even if economically it might make sense to throw away a few cheap broken items. I like quality, and these are quality. I dont clean my "machines" more than once a week, so these will last me a while. However, my fears were certainly unfounded! The swabs work great. They do not come apart like ordinary swabs when moist. The sticks were one of the things about which I was also uncertain, pertaining to their strength. Again, they work very well. The only possible problem anyone could have would be to treat them as if they were made out of steel. They are sturdy enough to poke into the areas where needed in cleaning my Smith & Wesson SD9 VE.
