They have a shadow effect to them aswell, which makes the material look more silver than white.That said, it is weighted just right. Not too heavy or too light.I was expecting a softer and heavier material but it doesn't detract too much.I saw this product elsewhere on amazon for half the price. I went for this one thinking it would have better qualities but I think that they are infact probably of the same standard. This is, without doubt, the best quality of all of them. The plastic ones are good at the beginning - you can get all sorts of different colours and patterns etc - but then I found they became mouldy quite quickly after that. This one has 12 metal eyelets, is great quality, hasn't shown any signs of discolouration and when it needs to be, it can be washed.
