It's light enough to put in my carry on and doesn't take much room at all. It works well on vacation clothes such as lighter cottons and polyester. I haven't used it on linens but doubt it would take out deep wrinkles although it gets quite hot. I did use it on a cotton duvet at home while it was on the bed. It worked okay and left wet spots that did dry quickly.
