Salad forks and teaspoons have just disappeared over the years. I prefer simple in style. That was difficult to find. Apparently most people prefer fancy carvings and shapes. This was the closest style I could find to my old elegant flatware. With the exception of the dinner forks being enormous (way too big!) it is exactly what I wanted. But I have learned that the giant size dinner fork is the new standard for all flatware. The salad forks of today are the same size as the dinner forks of yesterday. I bought extra salad forks and that's what I generally use. Aside from the size of the forks, I love the flatware. It is simple and elegant. Purchased Liberty stainless decades ago, and I was presently surprised to see that their product is exactly the same quality as it was all those years ago. Very sturdy, durable, and well made. This stuff lasts! The only thing I would say is that the packing was lacking, as the interior box was broken in the seam. They looked a bit like serving utensils. It depends on your taste, that is what many people want. Pay attention to the sizes of each utensil which is posted in the description (I didn't), especially if you have small hands. But this is a great set with a good weight to them. The satin finish is subtle and just right. No problems after the first washing. The knives are slightly serrated and seem to cut well. I did a lot of research before buying and I recommend this product.Update: I have been using these now for 6 months and they have been washed many many times in the dishwasher.
