Fill with warm water before you go, stay seated, put it between your legs (oblong toilet needed) and aim the nozzle, turn it on and a few seconds later, just turn off, remove from between your legs and dry your bottom with toilet tissue. The rechargeable unit actually fits inside the bottle and screws inside of the base so it is very convenient and unobtrusive to keep in your bathroom handy for when you need it.
