This is listed as a shredder that also curls ribbon. Of all the types of ribbon I tried none curled. I like the fact this shredder has metal teeth. They are VERY sharp, too. A child could seriously harm himself if he stuck his fingers into the shredder. The metal teeth are the reason I went for this shredder as all the others seem to have PLASTIC teeth. I cannot see them being very sharp for very long. I do like the way this item shreds the thin and wide gift wrapping ribbon. I tried the thin regular and metallic with fair results. You have to really line the ribbon up with the holes on the non-teeth side or you will only get one or two strands. You also have to be sure you are pulling exactly straight. This item shreds well, but then you have to curl it afterwards, which is not too difficult.
