I would say they would last longer not being put in the dishwasher as they are wood but they are lovely. **Q: Is there a guarantee on this cutlery set** A: Don’t know but it is really good quality. **Q: How thick are the handles, in mm?** A: I would say the wooden handle are half an inch thick and their very strong. **Q: Dishwasher safe ?** A: The instructions say to hand wash.
