I started after an eye infection, but continued, as when you first use a mascara tube, the supplied wand has a lot of mascara on it and if you scape it off back into the tube, it's then nit properly coated. As you use it, it becomes less coated, until it's perfect and then becomes too little. I find the best way is instead of putting the disposable wand into the mascara tube, I fill and take the tube's wand out and use this to transfer exactly the right amount of mascara and distribute it only where I need it on my disposable wand.
