I would say that I could try to put some furniture moving disks on the side that faces the floor and then try moving my father if he was sitting up on the floor. I also did not have much success moving my mother by trying to shove this under her while she was sitting in bed. Expect the smaller version. I am also out of the weight range of 176 lbs. I never saw the weight range listed anywhere until I read the included instruction manual. Yep - I READ THE MANUAL!! Now stop laughing. This doesn't seem to be the sturdiest transfer board that I've seen. It will be passed along to elderly friend who is very small framed and I know will fit the weight range. For about $50, I would have expected accurate description and a transfer board that I can flex and slightly bend. Which makes me question the 176 weight range is accurate.
