The journal is attractive and would work very well for a businessperson, student, writer or journaler. The cover is flexible but sturdy. It's small enough to slip into a backpack or briefcase but large enough to handle your writing needs. It would have been nice if it came with a pen loop but, since I already had a package of them, I just added my own. That is a personal preference of mine so it definitely doesn't affect my rating of the product. I'm a writer so it's handy to have the attached pen just in case inspiration strikes. My journal arrived missing the top lever that opens the rings so I used the card that had been enclosed with the journal and emailed them about this. Within a few hours, I received a very nice email from CrackNotebooks with an apology and an offer of a replacement. I was pretty impressed because I've had issues in the past with a few other vendors and if they responded, it was usually a form type email that only partially addressed the issue that I was having. So, I'd give them 5 stars just for the customer service alone. Even the box that the journal arrived in is cute and sturdy. I plan to use it for holding pens and such on my desk. This material reminds me of how microfiber cloths tends to attach to the skin. Smell and touch was not sth that I can look for in favourite notebook. It certainly doesn't have anything to do with leather, even with PU leather or any other faux leather fabric. If material would be better, it would easy become very desired notebook.
