It's sturdy and attractively built. It's a bit heavy, but it's made of wood and you can expect that. When the case arrived, I understood immediately why some reviewers complained about damage to their cases. It was packed in a large rectangular box with no cushioning in it whatsoever. During shipping, the case would just have bounced around the shipping box. I was lucky there was no damage. The case was a little difficult to open it the first time because one of the latches was stuck. A quick twist with a screwdriver took care of the problem and it's worked perfectly since. The inside of the case is very nice. It's well padded and fits my 12-string guitar perfectly. Some reviewers have complained that their case didn't match the advertised measurements, but I found my case to be correctly sized. The storage compartment is large and can hold what I need it to hold.
