I was looking for waterproof and comfortable. I normally wear a size 11 or 12 women's shoe, depending on the fit. After reading the reviews I opted for size 11W, which fit me perfectly. When I say that I put these to the test over the span of a weekend, I truly mean it. The cave had puddles that were literally inches deep in spots and there was mud. In other words, it was a cave. My feet never were even damp even after I gave up trying to hop to the sides of the puddles and just started walking right through the water. These also gave my feet ample support, which I usually struggle with. I did a lot of walking and standing on our adventure and these boots were even better than I hoped they would be. The traction on the bottom really helped in areas where mud covered the path. I look forward to seeing how they handle a Wisconsin winter. Hoping my feet stay as warm and dry as they did in the cave.
