They consider it an overactive nerve thing but it's onset and progression sure sound parallel to cold sores, so I thought I'd give it a go. Works wonderfully. Apply 2-3 times per day and especially about 15 minutes before bed so you can sleep. I don't have, and never had cold sores, but this medication stops the maddening itching of notalgia paresthetica within 15 minutes.

Bought this for my notalgia paresthetica on my neck/shoulder. It's a spot that itches insanely when nothing's amiss. They consider it an overactive nerve thing but it's onset and progression sure sound parallel to cold sores, so I thought I'd give it a go. Works wonderfully. Apply 2-3 times per day and especially about 15 minutes before bed so you can sleep. I don't have, and never had cold sores, but this medication stops the maddening itching of notalgia paresthetica within 15 minutes.
