The instructions are brief so the limitations are not immediately obvious. 1) Don't push hard, or the cutter will catch on imperfections and gaps, or even embed in plaster. 2) Intended to cut wallpaper that isn't pressed down, there must be a reasonable gap (3 - 5 mm) between the paper and the surface you are fixing it to 3) Like any tool practice makes perfect, so for an occasional user don't expect miracles.
