Review: Good read - I liked the storyline and the characters were very believable and well developed. My only complaint is that there was often so very much detail about food & china, etc, that distracted from the storyline and was boring to me. Review: An Interesting Woman of a Certain Age.... - This is an interesting and different story about a sharp, friendly, and intelligent woman of a certain age with a real career (i.e. not a cupcake shop). The romance was lovely and believable without any electric shocks and immediately falling into beds. The villains were ok albeit a bit stereotyped. I enjoyed reading it, but docked it a star primarily because it is a serial book. I don't like being tricked into buying followups to find out what happened. I'd rather buy them because I enjoyed the first one. The very minor reason for loss of a star are the several overused expressions in "women's books" such as "messy bun" and "strappy high heeled sandals" etc. Lastly, while I enjoyed all the other descriptions of this that and the other, they did take up alot of reading space. Great story line, kept pulling me back in. After you're done reading, author has website you can go to which allows you to read one more "diary" entry from main character.
