Take control of your own front end alignment in the home garage. The AutoSolo Castor Camber Gauge with Kingpin Inclination reads three angles from one mounted face: camber from plus 5 to minus 5 degrees, castor swing from plus 11 to minus 3 degrees, and kingpin inclination from 0 to 14 degrees, on the front wheels of cars and light trucks. WHAT THIS LISTING CONTAINS. One magnetic camber, castor and kingpin inclination gauge and one composite carry case. Nothing else. No wheel clamp, no turn plates, no ramps and no digital gauge are in the box. Some photographs show the gauge mounted on other equipment so you can see how it sits in use, and that equipment is not part of this listing. HOW IT MOUNTS. The magnetic base holds on a steel wheel, a brake disc or a clean, bare hub face. It does not hold by itself on an alloy or aluminium wheel. On those wheels the gauge seats on a flat magnetic adapter plate, which is not in this box. HOW YOU READ IT. Camber comes off a vial that is set at the factory, so there is no zeroing step. Castor and kingpin inclination are taken by sweeping the wheel 20 degrees out, zeroing the adjustable vial, then sweeping 20 degrees in. Multiply the castor swing by 1.46 for the castor angle. The front wheels have to be free to rotate on the spot for that step, and the vehicle needs to stand on level ground, because a sloped floor carries its slope into the angle. No battery, no charging, no software. Bubble vials in a stainless steel body, and the numbers stay in your own hands.
