Two people are also needed for holding base or head of each bed frame as the opposite side is attached to the vertical poles. Total assembly time was about 3-4 hours and I did not move particularly quickly. The frame seems very sturdy and I noticed no squeaking when I wiggled it once it was completed and in position. No one has slept on it yet so time will tell how it holds up under actual use. Although I have 6" twin mattresses on all three beds, the lower could accommodate a taller mattress. 6" is the right thickness for middle and upper bunk so the guardrails are effective. Review: Not so sturdy but as long as your children are not climbing it like it’s a jungle gym you should be fine. My kids love it.
