Review: Saved me $40,000 - Had bubbles coming from the toilet when I would take a shower, smelled like sewage. Dug up the cover for my septic tank and had it pumped. After calling my mother i found out that the last time my dad had it pumped was when i was 5 or 6 years old, I'm now 47 and have owned the house for 20 years. I also found out from my research that you are supposed to get a septic tank pumped every 4 or 5 years, so i was only 36 years overdue. The guy who pumped it said it was the worst one he had seen in the 5 years he has worked in septic services. I then had a camera run down into the distribution box. Standing water filled the pipe from the outlet baffle down to the distribution box. The septic tech told me my leach field was shot. Due to my neighbor having a raised bed leach field he told me that was what I was likely going to have to replace mine with. A raised bed leach field in Northern Delaware was gonna run around $40,000 with permits, perc tests and installation, as well as taking 3+ months to swap out. I decided I'd try a cheaper option or two before dropping $40 grand. I looked around for about 2 weeks learning what I could about how septic tanks worked and the problems people have with them. I learned that if the leach field won't drain properly but the pipes haven't collapsed that there might be something called bio-mat keeping it from draining. Bio-mat is a layer of bacteria from the water in the pipes that forms under the leach field acting almost like a tarp, blocking water from absorbing into the soil the way it should. I found a youtube video of a woman in Florida using this to get rid of the bio-mat and recover her system. Willing to drop $100 or so to avoid spending $40,000 I bought 4 bottles of this and 4 bottles of leach and drain field treatment (also from roebic). I used 1 bottle of each every 2 weeks for 2 months and then set up subscribe and save for 2 bottles every month. It's been 3 months and so far no bubbles from the toilet, the line to my distribution box looks clear with no standing water in it. Fingers crossed this may have fixed my problems for about 1% of what I was told it would cost me. I LOVE THIS COMPANY. Could not be happier. This is absolutely worth trying before replacing a leach field unless they run the camera down the actual field lines and confirm collapsed pipes.
Review: Great Product - This stuff really works. We used it bi-monthly and it helps keep our very old septic field working.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: There are so many different Roebic products, how does one know which to get without redundancy?**
A: Make your product choice based upon your specific needs, referencing the information in the following links:
http://www.roebic.com/system-maintenance-program.shtml
http://www.roebic.com/targeted-bacterial-solutions.shtml

**Q: is it ok to pour this down my shower drain with a little standing water ?tle water in it**
A: I’ve done it. I’m on a septic system so my gray water all joins up in the main line anyway. I’ve not had any I’ll effects from using this product. Actually I use this at least once a quarter every year. My system works great and my home is 23 y.o. in March 2022.

**Q: We have two bathrooms: Should we flush this down both toilets?**
A: Not at all. I would put it in the upper most one. It does its job in the septic tank, not the toilets. Roebic has a treatment called "Main Line" which is a four day treatment for cleaning the lines. If it were me, (and it is because I do), I'd split it between the toilets.

**Q: I don't have a septic tank, can I still use it to unclog my toilet?**
A: This product is not meant to unclog a toilet and will not do that no matter how much is used. A plunger meant for toilets (black head that looks like stacked donuts with a flip out cone on it) is your best bet. It will run you about $10 or $15 at home despot or on here. If that doesn't work a toilet auger would be your next best bet. They can be purchases for (I'm guessing because I haven't price on in 30 years) about $80 maybe less. Do not use a snake no matter how it is advertised. If it is less than 1/2 thick it will twist up on itself in the bend of the toilet and you may not be able to remove it without completely removing the toilet. There are videos on YouTube to show you how to use a TOILET AUGER. If your toilet is still clogged after using the auger the problem is further than 6 feet from the toilet and your BEST option is to call a professional like roto rooter or your local equivalent. Probably around $250 if they have to snake the main line.

Pouring chemicals into your toilet and main drain line will very rarely help and will most often only make the plumber called to fix it charge you more because he has to remove those chemicals so that he doesn't get burned or blinded by them. Nearly all of the product you pour into your toilet for clogs are just soap and either bleach or acid. Both of which are terrible for your pipes (no matter what the bottle says) and even worse for the plumber.

This product is meant for the maintenance of a septic tank, completely different from the main drain/sewer line and toilet.

Good luck with your current problem.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Product

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Cautiously optimistic...
*by C***K on April 18, 2020*

I live in an older house with the original septic system. I had accepted the idea that every 6 months to a year, I would have to have a plumber come and rooter the major lines going to the septic. Either the toilets would gurgle and everything would back up into the shower or my washing machine would overflow. I was warned that I may need major repairs including new lines. After the last back up, I tried this. I was pretty conservative with water use for a few days after, but so far, everything is working fine. A few days after I used this, I used the root remover product since I have many trees on my property. I've ordered a few more bottles of the K-57 and am using it every two weeks for six weeks just for good measure. After that, I plan to switch to the maintenance product. Even if I use this once a month, the cost is far less than the major work the plumber said I needed. I'd give 5-stars, but it's only been a few weeks. I would definitely suggest trying this product before making costly repairs.
