However, I will say that if you build scale models, get a set of riffler files. As soon as I got this set, I was able to use it to file areas of my current project, that would not have been possible with any of my "straight" files. I would rate the "cut" on these files as medium. It has enough bite to file plastic and resin easily, without leaving gouges in the material. I have not tried it on metal, yet. I knew before hand the inside curves of the flat ones are smooth (not file). Can only surmise this is a price cut thing as it would sure be handy to have files on ALL sides of EVERY one in the set. I use these to file the inside (from the outside) of gas cans that I've drilled out for new spouts etc. The drill leaves small curly things on inside edge of hole that are risky to leave as might get into gas later. These files usually can get at the PVC hanging debris pretty good. Not sure how durable they'd be on metal. They are pretty fine bladed.
