Will need to figure out the grade (N42-N52) of the magnet first. **Q: What type of glove protection would you suggest using? Thanks in advance.** A: Use pvc coated gloves, they are tough. The magnet picks up all kinds of metal shavings with the bigger stuff and it is sharp. Also it is dirty, depending on where you magnet fish. The magnet is great, use Kevlar 1000 lb string or some type of strong thin diameter rope. If it sticks to an immovable object, you will need to pull it off without breaking the rope and losing the magnet. **Q: How much do you think it could hold upside down on say a van ceiling?** A: This magnet is super strong, if you put it on the floor of the truck it is difficult to get it to release, on the roof, with no material between it and the magnet, it would hold my weight, 250. It would break the connection with a sudden jar, like hitting a bump. It really has close to the 500 lb it adverts, as I have drug an engine carcass across the dirt. I nabbed a pipe and also what looked like the suspension rod off of a car, which was heavy. :) The one thing that was annoying was the groove on the bottom of the magnet that captured and held onto the little bits of rusted metal from my 'catch'.
