I feel like the sun protection from the umbrella itself overhead is good but of course will not do anything to protect from the sun reflection on the sand (so I still was wearing sunscreen)The plastic clamp was easily adjustable, it seems reasonably durable but is at risk of being too tightly clamped & may crack at some point simply b/c the plastic isn’t the highest grade but with reasonable care & being careful not to aggressively over tighten it, it should last. The traveling case with the shoulder loop makes for easy carrying. It does a great job in windy conditions, is easy to adjust, and provides great quality shade. The fabric isn’t thin, so the shade feels more protective from the sun than lighter fabrics. I have size XL (in navy blue) and attach it to my beach chair. It provides ample shade for one person but you can also squeeze another person or dog in the shade with you. This umbrella is not heavy and easy to transport. Sometimes I attach it to my backpack and bike with it. I would give 5 stars but sadly, after 3 years of use, it broke. The part that broke is the button you have to press that keeps it in an upright position (near the clamp). The button is stuck in the upright position, so it won’t lock into place. Without this working, I have to hold the umbrella up or else it falls towards the ground. I might buy another since it has been such a great umbrella, or look into other options.
