It's actually spot wild holes on my dipstick, which needed sealing after relocating the support bracket. The pyrex cup allowed for excellent visibility. And helped avoid burn- through and ruining the dipstick tube. The second photo shows fusion welded stainless steel boost pipe(used and slightly dirty). This system sends to have paid for itself after the first few uses in argon savings and dipstick replacement/ junkyard visit. Things to consider: Be sure to order for your particular series of torch. This shielding kit does not work as well as the very expensive ones. You can see by the cloudy color of my welds on the stainless. This kit is only for 3/32" tungsten. The smaller diffuser is actually just too accommodated the small ceramic cups included in the kit. The included cups shatter right away when dropped. Review: Great - You basically get what you pay for. Everything works really well but not anywhere near as well as more expensive parts. But definitely can get the job done I would highly recommend buying this.
