It’s light enough for one person to mount to the trailer hitch without help. I personally did help my partner as it does need wiggling when locking into the hitch slot. I got the 2-bike setup, and loading for the first trip was quick and hassle-free. Includes eight ratchet straps. That made securing the bikes very easy, and everything stayed stable during transport. Overall, it’s a well-designed, convenient carrier that delivers great value. I’d definitely recommend it to a friend. Recommendation for an enhancement would be to implement a folding mechanism so when not in use, the carrier can be flipped up to secure it closer to your vehicle. I worry that when empty it could be hit.
