Very, very quiet on the lowest setting and it sucks air so well we can keep it on the lowest setting for most things that steam or smell. Seller also called us BEFORE we received the hood to give us contact information should we have any problems with installation. We've never had that great service for any appliance before! We didn't have any trouble installing it. It does have a plug in cord, and our old one didn't, but it was easy enough to install an outlet where the electricity for the old one was wired into the wall. (Hope that make sense.) Loved the pro-active service of this seller!
