In winter I put a mohair wool scarf on bottom to keep him cozy. To teach your baby to get used to carrier, play games inside (unzipped) with treats, then work up to closed for a few seconds, then minutes, carrying around, etc. Let him see that you are with him at all times. Train only a few minutes a day; make it fun.
