My last blanket had a cover and then the weighted part tied inside and I have the option to do that because is has the loops as well but the fabric on my last blanket was stiff like cheep sheets and this one is so cozy and comfortable and the weight is just what I needed. My other blanket has seen better days its 5 years old and I definitely needed an upgrade.
