When I turned it on I thought it was broken. It only heats up to 230 degrees. I bought it because it is supposed to heat up to 450 degrees. Realized the thermostat is in CELSIUS not Fahrenheit. The back of the box says 90-230 C (190-450 F). The flat iron was made in China, so maybe that is why the digital display/thermostat is not in Fahrenheit (American temperature scale). When you turn it on it starts at 90 Celsius degrees which is 190 Fahrenheit degrees(American) Giving the temperature conversions for you. You can always do a Google Search for a specific temperature. Ladies, when you buy Amazon hot tools for your hair, flat iron, blow dryer or anything that gets hot, pay attention to the temperature scale. You do not want to damage your hair, etc. Products from China use a different temperature scale (Celsius).** 90 Celsius degrees on flat iron is 190 degrees Fahrenheit (American)** 120 C degrees on flat iron is 250 degrees Fahrenheit** 150 C degrees on flat iron is 300 degrees Fahrenheit** 170 C degrees on flat iron is 338 degrees Fahrenheit** 190 C degrees on flat iron is 375 degrees Fahrenheit** 220 C degrees on flat iron is 428 degrees Fahrenheit** 230 C degrees on flat iron is 450 degrees Fahrenheit It looks like a nice flat iron.
