## Description

Wahoo TICKR X Heart Rate Monitor with Memory, Bluetooth/ANT+ : desertcart.co.uk: Sports & Outdoors

Review: Instant Heart Rate Reading and Counts Reps! - REASON FOR BUYING: Wanted a fitness device that i could train and keep an eye on my heart rate and also keep a count of my reps whilst working out. REVIEW: I decided against buying a fitness watch because their heart rate reading aren't very reliable and through research, I found this chest strap to be one of the most reliable. When it arrived, I found the strap and the Wahoo system itself surprisingly small! The strap can be adjusted very easily and can be fitted on to most people as you make the strap longer and shorter aswell as it being elasticated to stretch. The strap and the wahoo system come detached and simply clicks in to place. Once in place, the system gives off a little blue flash to show that the bluetooth is on and a red light to show it has been connected and has found a heart beat. There is no on or off for the system, simply disconnect it from the strap and after 10 seconds or so, the light will stop flashing and you will know it's turned off. I use my system with an IPhone, so i can't speak for android. As soon as i connect the strap and see the blue light, i opened the Wahoo app. It asks me too choose a device to connect too. As soon as i click on the device it connects within 5 seconds and gives me an instant Heart Beat reading. When wearing the strap, it does feel a bit alien at first, but in less than a minute, I forgot i was wearing it. If feels small and discreet and doesn't bulge through my t shirt at all. I dont think people at the gym will even know im wearing one. I've tested it out with the 7 minute workout app and its really great. Every time i do a star jump or a squat, my phone will count it out aloud. It's really impressive and works really well. It will also keep track of my Personal Best reps and my Heart Rate. PROS: Lightweight. Counts Reps. Long Battery Life. Adjustable Strap. Accurate Readings. Lots of 3rd Party Apps. CONS: You cant get it to count reps outside designated apps (I want it to count my bench presses). SUMMARY: If you just want it to read your Heart Beat, get the basic Tickr for cheaper, but if you want it to count reps and give you workouts, then this is defo worth it!! I hope that someone finds this helpful!
Review: on the face of it - a great bit of kit. - I've had this heart rate monitor for a few weeks now and I have to say that I'm very impressed. Being a 'Polar' fan before this was more of a curiosity buy (even though I needed a new monitor). The interface on my mobile was easy to set up and apart from the usual teething problems of getting used to something new there is little to fault . I am amazed at the detail it is able to provide and I'm now able to better target certain areas in my training as a result, although it is early days and I will be interested to find out just how effective this information is and whether I am able to adapt my performance to match. I guess only time will tell. As for comfort - you just font notice it, and I love the fact that you don't have to moisten the strap before fixing it to your chest like I had to with my old 'Polar' system. I guess my main concern is how the monitor attaches to the chest strap. I don't like how the two ends of the strap are fixed by using the actual monitor as a clip. I can see that as potentially becoming a problem over time. I'd prefer the strap to be just the strap and the monitor to have a docking station rather than forming the actual attachment itself. The only other thing I can say is that, whilst many of the features are handy and I can see their potential, I am left wondering just how relevant a lot of the 'techno whizz' is on this and if it's just gimmicky or if it has real relevance. For now though, I have no option other than to give it 5 stars and see how it all pans out in say a few months time. I have my fingers crossed that it delivers the goods because if it really really does deliver what it says it does it will probably be the best bit of kit I have bought, alongside my trainers.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ New Review after testing.
*by K***M on 4 March 2020*

When my device arrived the package was a little damaged. First i will enumerate the device problems: 1.Device don't vibrate anymore (Due to firmware update) 2.Double tap will not put a marker on your workout like it suppose to do. 3.App does not show you battery level. Double tap no vibration explanation: After many mail with the Wahoo producer of this device TickerX they finally admired that the device vas originally build with vibration module, and after years of use they decide to discontinued the vibration module by removing the hardware in the device and by firmware update that disable the vibration module. They say is because the module drain battery life to much. My unit have user guide that say double tap will vibrate support at wahoo told me it was an old module of TickrX and this is why i have that user guide. Next i put the email I received from Wahoo support: "Kevin T (Wahoo Fitness Support) Mar 5, 10:02 AM EST Hey Popa, Thanks for writing, and apologies for the confusion! Unfortunately the TICKR X did formerly have a vibration feature, but we no longer manufacture it with the hardware that would allow it to vibrate, and we have disabled this feature (through firmware) on older TICKR X models that were manufactured with the appropriate hardware. The TICKR X hasn't been manufactured with this function for several years now, so they simply do not exist. The reason we disabled and changed this feature is because it drained the batteries very quickly on the TICKR X units, and we found it to be unnecessary for its function. Additionally, it's important to note that we no longer advertise the TICKR X as having a vibration function. The manual you are looking at is likely several years old, and is no longer up to date. It is not what is included with modern TICKR X units, and if you did happen to find that in a recently purchased TICKR X box, it's likely an older model that has been sitting around a store or warehouse for several years (in other words, new old stock). It's unfortunate that you feel misled, but just like all products on the market, the TICKR X is subject to manufacturing changes, and we have updated our advertising to reflect this. I will again reiterate that we no longer advertise the TICKR X as having this function, and if this makes the product unappealing to you, I would recommend returning it to the retailer that you purchased it from. Thanks for your understanding! Thanks, Kevin" Now for the device usage: 1. I test it by running, and I must tell you It works good and I must add accurate, I was afraid I could not use it with 2 apps simultaneously but it seems it is working so good. I am using Wahoo Fitness app and 5K Runmeter in the same time. 2. I was pleasant surprised to see that is very responsive and hearth rate is refreshing every second. 3. The band is ok but if you have big back like butterfly big top and decreasing in the abdominal part it will tend to go down on your back, but the 2 sensors will stay put and work ok. So after all it was a pleasant surprise to see that i can use it for what i wanted but the vibration problem and the attitude of the first support wahoo guy was bad.
