I needed to make sure that it was easily removable so that ladders can be used to access window and guttering above. I've used supporting steel wires above and below the tarp to ease strain on the eyelets in high winds and so far so good. I'll update the review once winter is over but I designed it to be hoisted up and down if necessary and will not risk leaving in place when snow is forecast as that might be asking a bit much! I had my doubts about how it would look but I think it looks as good as the poly-carbonate roofing I've extended now that it's got a bit dirty. I would definitely use this type of tarp again for more garden sitting areas.
