I usually put in 6 drops of peppermint oil and I put the machine on a medium level. It lasts like 15 hours and the smell is super rich and it reaches long distances. My mom can smell it all over the hallway when this machine is located in the farthest place from the door in my room. I love it. It is a large device. My primary complaint is that when it "auto turns off" even though the diffuser isn't running, there is a red light shining, so you have to physically turn it off. Also for some reason there is a seperate vessle for the oil. The whole thing is overly complicated.
