When you fill it for the first time, you feal each part in your hands you can tell it's made with high quality material. It looks beautiful. It gives off enough light to be able to see at my camp site. It gets a little hot but I own a lot of lanterns so I knew it would. The fount stays cool enough so no worries of fire (if you know how to use lanterns). You have to remove the burner from the fount to fill it like the old 1920s and 1930s small lanterns. I am an outdoorsman, so I wanted to try it out camping because of its size. It's small and easy to carry. Easy to light, fill, and easy to use. The only problem that I could find with it is the price. I think that if the price was dropped it would be easier to recommend. I think that it would last for years if it's taken care of. It's a great lantern just a bit small and overpriced.
