Honestly, I didn’t even know they existed. I just kept changing my razor blades, forgetting I’d changed them, then enthusiastically shaving like a woodland creature discovering grooming for the first time. Cue the occasional tiny nic and a plaster stuck to my legs like a badge of poor decision-making. Enter: the styptic pencil. These things work surprisingly well. Yes, pressing it onto a cut stings a bit (like it’s scolding you for your shaving choices) but the pain fades, the bleeding stops, and you don’t have to walk around wearing half a roll of plasters. Win-win. The only downside? The warning on the packet that says "Do not lick.” I mean… why would I? Who out there is taste-testing this thing? The thought alone makes my toes curl. Ouch.
