Each packet makes about 1.32 gallons, but I would never use that at one time. I broke down the porportions to make smaller amounts at a time. I did not see that this mix includes any preservatives. I didn't want to take a chance on it spoiling or having to keep it in the refrigerator. 1 teaspoon powder makes about 2 cups of fragrant massage gel. 1/2 teaspoon powder makes about 1 cup of fragrant massage gel. 1/4 teaspoon powder makes about 1/2 cup fragrant massage gel. Just mix the powder with water or about 15 minutes to disolve the clumps. You can mix different amounts of water with Purecrafts Massage Gel Powder to personalize and to create your ideal texture. I make mine with a little less water to get a more solid gel. I like how I can adjust the ratio of water for the perfect consistency and create only what I need to avoid waste! I do not see a preservative in the ingredients list so I must be careful to make only as much as I will use at one time.
