The back is a perfect height, about midback so I can comfortably put my arms over it and get a good stretch. I put together a set of 4 in less than an hour with 2 toddlers pulling at the parts. I really appreciate how thoughtfully it was packaged. The entire back and seat are already in 1 piece so you just have to attach the 2 pieces for the legs (also already together) and the middle connector bar. The screws are packaged in sets per chair INCLUDING a tool per bag. This is what made it so easy to put together with toddlers. I worked on a chair at a time while they shook the closed bags of hardware and I didn't have to worry about any screws getting lost. It's the small things.
