Review: itched Ring for this — better camera, no subscription, zero regrets - We'd been using a Ring doorbell at our old apartment, so when we moved I started looking at what else was out there. Landed on the eufy E340 mainly because of the better camera and the fact that there's no monthly subscription required to actually use it — that alone made the decision easy. Setup and install were genuinely a breeze. I stuck it up with gorilla tape and had it connected to WiFi in a few minutes, no fuss. We're about two weeks in now, and the battery is still sitting at a full charge — which is honestly impressive, because the family in the unit across from us has kids who've been setting the motion detection off constantly while playing (we're talking somewhere around 40 times a day). Despite all that activity, the battery hasn't budged. Video and audio quality are both great — clear enough that we've had no trouble seeing or hearing exactly what's going on at the door. Only minor gripe: deleting videos from the app can take a bit longer than I'd expect. Not a dealbreaker, just a small annoyance. Overall, really happy with this over the Ring setup we had before. No subscription, solid battery life even under heavy motion-trigger load, and picture/sound quality that delivers. Would recommend.
Review: Excellent dual-camera doorbell with impressive clarity! - This eufy E340 kit is an outstanding video doorbell. The dual-camera setup is a game-changer—having one camera for face-level view and a second camera pointing down completely eliminates blind spots and lets you see packages clearly at your doorstep. Highlights: Crisp Image Quality: The 2K FHD resolution delivers sharp, clear video during the day and excellent night vision. Smart & Fast Detection: Motion tracking is fast and accurate, capturing events instantly without missing key moments. Built-in Storage & Removable Battery: Having built-in 8GB storage is great for local recording right out of the box without hidden fees, and the removable battery makes recharging super convenient. If you are looking for a reliable, feature-packed doorbell with great clarity and zero fuss, this one is worth every penny!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What chimes can Video Doorbell pair with?**
A: Video Doorbell can pair with your existing chime, eufy HomeBase S280, HomeBase S380, MiniBase Chime(T8023), Alexa and Google Voice Assistant. Note: Not compatible with the original eufy Wi-Fi Chime(T8020),eufy Chime(T8740/T8742)or Apple Homekit.

A: No. It supports Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, but it doesn't currently support HomeKit.

**Q: Will Video Doorbell be compatible with the pre-record function? Will the existing chime still be used?**
A: Yes. It is compatible with the pre-record function when it is constantly powered with 16-24V, 30VA transformer and this feature is expected to be available from early December, 2023. And an existing chime needs to be bypassed at the same time.

A: No, it only supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. And the doorbell is powered by the battery and it is necessary to be installed, even while using it in wired mode.

**Q: How do I link Alexa and Video Doorbell?**
A: 1. Open the Alexa app side menu. Tap Browse. 2. Find and enable the “eufy Security” skill. 3. Enter your eufy account login details on the Link Account page. 4. Tap “Discover Devices” to see which security devices you can use with Alexa.

### ⭐ if it works its great
*by M***O on May 5, 2026*

I think it's great product. I wanted one that had local storage to avoid paying subscription. The sub option is only in case you want to save in the cloud to access remotely. I have some connection issues but I think that's my personal problem because it's my door is a bit far from the router, so I don't think it's fair to give a bad rating because that's my case. I will look for a repeater or relocate the wifi router to cover mñbetter signal to the entrance. Overall I think it's great, it's super great that it comes with two batteries and even cables in case you want to wire. I'm using the batteries and I constantly check the battery % and its very good, it takes on avarsge 5% a day. Basically is not recording at all times, but when it detects movement it saves a clip of 20-30secs (customizable). So depending on the usage it's how fast it depletes. Overall is good and I plan on buying more eufy products for other security purposes -update. changing my review from 5 to 1. This doorbell camera, just stopped working, for no reason, out of nowhere, I did absolutely nothing. It started slowly, I noticed it was not capturing movement, but it was streaming correctly all OK I had a few days where it had "no events", I thought "well maybe there's just not movement at all", then one day randomly it says "offline", I thought someone mightve stolen it, when I brought it inside it was just not being detected by the app, it was offline, though the button of the ring kept working, and it made sounds as if it was still working but it was just not being detected. I tried everything, rebooting, replacing the battery, re-install everything, rebooting to factory setting but no, it stopped detecting my wifi, I couldnt sync to any wifi anymore, so I just returned while I was still within my 30 day purchase, (I had it for 3 weeks max). So, I do believe this thing is an OK product... when it works. But Not sure if I would trust to purchase this again.
