When deciding to start taking collagen, I started to search for different brands, and Anthony's popped up in my search. Recognizing the brand and knowing I've always been pleased with the quality of the products used from Anthony's, I decided this was the brand I'd choose to start my collagen journey. My instinct was correct as this product was a clear winner. It comes in a resealable bag. I dissolves completely in my coffee with just a couple stirs. There is no settling at the bottom of the cup or residual product at the top. Once dissolved, there is no detectable trace of the powder. There is no texture, smell, or taste. If I did not know I had put the collagen in the cup, I honestly would have no idea it was there. It was a bit of a mental challenge the first few times to think of putting "fish" into my coffee, but I got over that very quickly as I honestly could not detect it at all. And I was really trying hard to detect it. I am about halfway through the bag at this point, and have decided to put this on automatic shipment. I am quite pleased with the product and will continue using it.

A: Why are you asking this? It says right on the package that the product is from France and packaged in California.

**Q: Does it taste or smell like fish?**
A: It smells a bit. It also has a slight fish taste

**Q: Is there any information about mercury levels and the source of this product?**
A: I emailed the company and asked this but they did not reply to the question. They did reply to my question about what types of fish were harvested.

**Q: Anthony’s, do you use fish scales, or just skin? Major type of fish…bream?**
A: There are a few different types of collagen, each providing different benefits, and they are derived from four main sources – cows (bovine), pigs (porcine), chicken and fish (marine).

Many collagen powders are derived from bovine, porcine and chicken as it is cheaper to manufacture and more readily available. However, the latest research is showing that the best type of collagen to consume is the collagen derived from fish. Marine collagen provides Type I and Type III collagen which is easier for the body to absorb. It helps support the skin’s elasticity, minimize lines and wrinkles, improve joint function and can also help promote bone healing.
