If you are inclined, you can assist the opening speed by partially dampening the opening by pressure on the top. A bonus of the effort necessary to close the umbrella should be deemed as a comfortable physical exercise for the arms and chest! But, that displays the strength of the mechanism, and is supported by a lifetime warranty. Very well and nicely packaged. Good quality umbrella and looks great. Same canopy size as many other brollies I've had before and great overall size and is just a bit heavier. Good handle grip and great strap to keep canopy folded down. You can feel the strength of it's sturdy ribs and springs when you close the umbrella . It's far superior to any other brolly I've ever had and amazing value for the price. It's great to buy one knowing it's going to last.
