A: The bucket is 8 1/2" tall and 9" in diameter.

**Q: what is the height of the 1 quart bucket?**
A: Height 4 1/2", Top of the Pail inside Diameter 5", Bottom of the Pail Diameter 4"...my husband calls this one a sippy cup...lol

**Q: Can you use it for cooking ?**
A: I would not use for cooking.

**Q: Will this bucket sit flat on the ground? I am looking for a bucket for my dog to drink out of that the water wouldn't splash out easily.**
A: Yes, it does sit flat on the ground.  You can push it up against a wall because of the flat side.  Water does not spill out easily, but if the dog likes to play with the bucket and toss it, you can hang it on a chain against a wall, which is what I did.
