DASH 8-40CW - TCS DCC SOUND VALUE-EQUIPPED Locomotive - NORFOLK SOUTHERN #8314 (Thoroughbred) - HO Scale. GENERAL ELECTRIC DASH 8-40CW (68511-14) Entering service in 1989, the Dash 8-40CW was the first in General Electric’s line of road diesels to feature the North American Safety Cab (otherwise known as the wide-cab design). It would set the trend for the basic appearance of all GE locomotives for the next two decades, becoming an icon of North American freight railroading. Bachmann’s Dash 8-40CW features newly added operating ditch lights, a TCS Sound Value DCC package for sound, speed, direction, and lighting control, and comes ready-to-run on both analog and DCC-equipped layouts. Review: Great DCC with sound for the money - This is a great loco for the money. Great, smooth low end speed. Pulls a lot of rail stock (had 20 on it and it was still smooth. It's a workhorse, for sure.
Review: Norfolk Southern 8314 Thoroughbred - This is my first locomotive with sound and I couldn't be happier. The bells and horns are really nice. The locomotive is detailed well I'm a fan of dark colored locomotives, I also have a dark blue and yellow Santa fe with i like not a fan of the red one i have. Getting back to the Norfolk Southern i have run it a few hours now it responds well stays on the track the sounds work fine I'm happy with my purchase

This is my first locomotive with sound and I couldn't be happier. The bells and horns are really nice. The locomotive is detailed well I'm a fan of dark colored locomotives, I also have a dark blue and yellow Santa fe with i like not a fan of the red one i have. This Bachmann Dash 8-40CW Norfolk Southern HO locomotive really does look and perform like the real thing. This unit runs very smoothly and produces very realistic sounds while getting under way, slowing down and at cruising speeds. The attention to detail in the painting and graphics is excellent. This unit has quickly become my favorite locomotive to operate.
