Was almost half the price of a similar Yakima unit my son-in law just bought and I think it is more strongly built and easier to use. The Yakima had a bunch of separate clamp ties that held the bikes in place that would easily be lost and were a pain to use. The Yakima did have an integral locking cable to lock the bikes on the unit, but since we already have individual locks and cables for the bikes that was not much of a feature. The Allen Sport had a full 2" square frame that locked into the hitch while the Yakima had a 1 1/4" frame that fit into an adapter to make it 2". OK but I'll take the beefier construction. Did like the locking clamp that takes any play out of the hitch connection as well as locking carrier into the hitch. The tilt feature worked easily even with 3 bikes loaded on it and I wouldn't be able to get into the back of my CRV without it. All in all I think this was a better carrier than the Yakima, and getting the tilting and locking features was well worth the few $ it cost over Allen Sports budget models. ## Features - Features. It plugs into your hitch. it will fit on anything with a 2” hitch **Q: my hitch key came broken off inside the hitch. the hitch receiver goes in to the hitch and you can twist it to lock it but you cant use the key help!** A: I am sorry but I do not understand what you are calling the hitch key. The hitch receiver is the part mounted on the car. My bike rack came with a large bolt and my regular hitch lock for the trailer hitch would not fit through the receiver and rack. Therefore you are forced to use the bolt and nut which is difficult to install and remove. If you managed to get your hitch lock through the hole of the receiver and bike rack it is possibly jammed and you may have to get it cut off. Our perhaps a smaller bolt or chisel can be used to force it through with a large hammer. If you can send a picture perhaps I can understand your predicament better. The Thule and Yakima brands are really expensive. Then I found this one. It installed really easily, and I (5'6" woman) was able to insert it and take it out by myself. It's really easy to lower and raise in order to access the trunk. Truth be told we haven't put bikes on it yet, but we actually used it to carry our skis. I'm waiting on the Thule ski attachment, but in the meantime we just laid the skis horizontally and strapped them down with the bike straps. Worked like a charm for a 3 hour drive.
