I went for the coffee brown, it does come lighter than it appears in the picture, a bit closer to what you'd expect the tan colour to be. But in fairness this could be down to the tanning process not always being an exact science and you should always expect there to be some difference. With time and use it will darken so not an issue. The strap is quite thick and chunky, I've put it on a GMT style watch which it pairs with nicely. Wouldn't suit a more slimline or elegant watch though, so bear that in mind.
