(We have a 300 gallon spa and only use it for part of the year. So, not a lot of need for this stuff.) With the old chemicals the instructions said to add 3 Tablespoons of granules. This new stuff is a different chemical and I only need to add 2 teaspoons to get the same level reading on the test strips. The only difference I noticed is that the granules are a bit bigger and do not dissolve quite as quickly. But most dissolve by the time they are a foot or so under the surface.
