It is pump operated so it does help not making a huge hissing sound scaring the cat. The liquid is purple. Please take care when spraying that it does not hit any hard surfaces as it stains purple and cannot be removed with just water. The cat is healing well. It is a large bottle so value for money. It has no smell and is easy to use.
