I did fabricate my own tool to assist with removing and installing a tire with pneumatic duck head, and used this to hold the bead so I could work my way around on the last bead. It's like having a third hand and wouldn't attempt to do a tire without it. It will become your most valuable asset in putting on a tire, especially in the case of lower profile and/or larger rim diameter tires.
