After sitting in the dentist's chair one too many times I resolved to step up my efforts to prevent more cavities. Front and center was ACT Anticavity oral rinse. I liked that it had no alcohol and that I only had to use it once a day. For the past year and a half I have used the rinse nightly after brushing. The formula is a mild mint that doesn't make me want to spit it out the instant I begin to swish. Best of all are the reports I have received from my dentist during this entire period: no cavities! **Q: Is this alcohol free?**
A: It is free of *ethyl* alcohol (ethanol).  It has a different alcohol in it, benzyl alcohol, which  does not have  the same effects as ethanol.  It is actually more toxic than ethanol in large quantities, but is harmless in the quantities used in this rinse.  Even "super-purist" Tom's of Maine uses benzyl alcohol in their products.

**Q: Does act  mouthwas have cetylpyridinium in it ?**
A: Cetylpyridinium chloride is present. It is the 13th ingredient.

**Q: What is the pH?**
A: I never heard of ph.

**Q: What is the expiration date and when did you order? I want to know how long they'll last**
A: I received it 10/16/17...    Almost gone and not sure of the expiration date. So, it lasted about months.
