I was surprised at how small the packaging was for the mattress. It arrived in great condition. We unrolled it and immediately put it outside as we read other reviews on the smell. There is even instructions to air it outside. We did that for 3 days and moved it inside. Took it out the next day as the smell was strong in the bedroom. We left it outside in the shade for another 2 days. At that point, I sprayed it with Febreez. That seemed to help. Brought it back in and there is still a very faint smell. I laid down on the cot and could tell that if an adult was going to sleep there, we would have to put a board under the mattress. But our 5 year old grandson will be just fine for several years to come. We are happy with it. I remember our foam top king mattress also has a faint smell when we first purchased for some time. Would I buy this again - Yes. I think the quality is excellent and size perfect for we need. I gave 4 stars because of the smell.
