All of these are able to be calibrated. Put in a cup of ice and set the dial to 33°. **Q: What country is this made in?** A: The company Supco is located in Bronx, NY at Supco.com, had it awhile, still works well if that helps. **Q: can this be calibrated by nut on back for rotating dial?** A: I believe so. There is a nut on the back, but I haven't had to recalibrate mine yet. **Q: What is the diameter of the stem?
