Uses common home materials nothing too simple or fancy. Simple instructions manual very easy to follow. Simple and easy to clean too not too many parts or gadgets. I was excited to try it and dumped all the ingredients into the frozen bowl. I couldn't figure out why the paddle seemed too big and wouldn't turn. I quickly realized that the cream and liquid had already started freezing to the sides of the container making the diameter of the container smaller. That's what I get for not reading instructions. You have to get the paddle turning and pour the ingredients into the hole in the lid. Oh is that what the hole is for? After a good laugh and a huge mess; I completed my first attempt at making ice cream.
