Great price and it's a toy things may happen if u don't take care of it.

Had mine for about a year love it yeah it may have it's faults but for four hundred bucks it's a great deal for it being big, so what these other comments are kinda dumb especially because they aren't thinking about the price comparisons like to a traxxas maxx or a xmaxx and I have both xmaxx will run u about 1100 with batteries and charger max about 590 with batteries so come. Dhk Maximus for 389 is a steal.

Mixed Bag - Poor Electronics But Good Chassis

*by M***R on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on June 15, 2014*

I have owned my DHK Maximus for 5 months now. It's a mixed bag. In general, I'd have to recommend AGAINST buying it. There are three reasons for that:1. The stock electronics tend to fail, so you have to factor in the cost of a new motor and ESC2. Aftermarket support does not exist – all replacement parts must be purchased from a dealer3. The motor mount is non-standard and very hard to work with when replacing a motorDon’t be taken in by it being a “good deal” just because it comes with batteries and a charger. The charger is a wall-wart trickle charger. It takes hours to charge one battery. Considering that the truck runs on two batteries, the charger is basically worthless. The Lipo batteries that come with it are just OK. You may get ten minutes of run time with them. Better batteries will give you more torque and considerably more run time. I get half an hour of run time with Gens Ace 7000Mah 50C batteries.HERE IS A QUOTE FROM AN ARTICLE PRINTED IN COMPETITIONX: The DHK Maximus includes some serious hardware strapped to the chassis. On one side, the 80A brushless ESC (with reverse) is snuggled up front next to the metal-geared steering servo while the enormous 2260kV brushless motor mounts on the other.I HAVE SOME FEEDBACK ON THAT QUOTE: These days, an 80A ESC is NOT serious hardware. It is barely adequte for a truck designed to run on 4S. The servo is very weak at only 9Kg (approx 160 in-oz) torque. Monster truck tires generally need a lot more than that amount of torque. And finally, the motor is only 36mm diameter. It is a 3660 can. That is a motor designed for a 1/10 scale vehicle, not a 1/8 scale monster truck. Calling that serious hardware is a serious flaw. When the stock motor burns our, which it will, you can't even put a larger diameter motor into the truck because the non-standard motor mount will not accomodate any motor over 36mm diameter. On a positive side, the truck is fast, stable and pretty durable after you upgrade the electronics. I installed a Leopoard 3674-1900Kv motor in mine and replaced the weak 80A ESC with a Hobbywing 120A ESC. Those have proven to be very durable electronics.I'm pretty impressed with the chassis and running gear. The suspension is very capable of handling heavy bashing. After a lot of very hard running, I bent a rear shock tower, but it was easy to bend back and has not bent again since then. I also broke the rear bumper at the lower mounting point, but replaced it with one made by T-Bone Racing for the DHK Optimus. As long as you are pretty handy and don’t mind the cost of replacing some electronic parts right away, you will end up with a very nice truck. However, after weighing the pros and cons, I ultimately cannot recommendation to buy it.

    Not worth buying.

I would definitely not recommend this truck. I've had it for about 4 months and haven't been able to run a set of batteries thru it before something breaks. I've had multiple screws fall out. The stock bearings are complete junk. I've already replaced 4 of them. I have 4, 1/8 scale monster trucks. This one is 2 inches shorter and 2 inches narrower than 2 of my other ones. This is actually a 1/10 scale truck. An Arrma Kraton 1/10 scale 4s is actually bigger than this truck. All in all, steer clear of this truck. You WILL be disappointed.
